Home Health Care Month

WHEREAS, organized home health care programs have assisted the elderly, disabled, and chronically ill citizens of the County of Hunterdon, State of New Jersey for over ninety (90) years; and

WHEREAS, home health care is an integral part of community based health service delivery and provides an economical alternative to institutionalization; and

WHEREAS, Hunterdon County home care providers bring compassionate, professional care including nursing, home health aide services, physical, occupational and speech therapies, social work counseling and other services to those in need; and

WHEREAS, home care means skillful assistance in the reassuring environment of home for those of all ages requiring acute, long-term rehabilitative and respite care; and

WHEREAS, home care enables families to be preserved by providing skillful assistance during difficult times;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Hunterdon does hereby proclaim November, 2001 as Home Health Care Month, and urges the residents of the County to recognize the efforts of home care providers, as well as, the families and friends of the elderly and disabled who provide such important services to those in need in the community.
