In recognition of the arts sector’s $877 billion contribution to the U.S. economy and a source of 5.1 million American jobs, the National Endowment for the Arts received $75 million through the (CARES) Act. Directed by legislation, the funds will assist nonprofit arts organizations enduring significant losses due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Departing from usual requirements, the funds are non-matching and to be used for operating as opposed to project expenses. Funds must be expended by December 31, 2020.

The Hunterdon County Cultural & Heritage Commission is receiving a one-time, non-matching $9,400 amendment to the current Local Arts Program (LAP) grant. The funds are to be used for General Operating Support, for:

  1. Salary support (full or part-time)
  2. Fees for Artists and/or contractual personnel
  3. Facility costs, e.g. rent or utilities for your venue

Applicant organizations must meet all requirements as stated for eligibility under the 2020 LAP grant guidelines for General Operating Support: http://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/depts/c&h/grants-LAP.htm

Eligible organizations include Commission regrantees in good standing from FY2018, 2019, or 2020, in either the Local Arts Program or the County Special Projects program.
