COVID Vaccine Waiting List and Appointment Availability
The Hunterdon County Health Department is providing a Waiting List for those seeking COVID Vaccine.
Each week between 450 and 550 appointments are scheduled for those on the waiting list.
New spots on the Waiting List become available on a rolling basis as people confirm their appointments.
If you would like to sign up for the Waiting List for an appointment, please check back regularly.
When signing up for the Waiting List please ensure that your email address is correct.
Everyone on the Waiting List is guaranteed a dose of vaccine at a Hunterdon County Health Department Clinic.
If you have received your vaccine via another vaccine provider and you previously signed up to be on the Hunterdon County Health Department's Waiting List, please email us at health@co.hunterdon.nj.us and request to be removed from our list so we can open your spot for someone else in need.
We appreciate your patience as we continue to improve this process.
How does the Hunterdon County Health Department vaccine appointment platform work?
Signing up for the Hunterdon County Health Department Waiting List guarantees you a dose of vaccine at an upcoming Hunterdon County Health Department Vaccine Clinic.
There are likely over 50,000 individuals in Hunterdon County currently eligible to receive vaccine. The Hunterdon County Health Department is provided only 400-500 first doses of vaccine per week by the state.
The Hunterdon County clinic waiting list is limited to 5,000 registrations, based on the limited vaccine supply.
The new vaccine waitlist sign-up system requires 1 unique email address per person. The system will not allow for duplicate entries with the same email address or shared email addresses.
You will receive periodic updates via email continuing to confirm your place on the waiting list. New spots on the Hunterdon County Health Department COVID Vaccine Waiting List will open periodically, as those on the list are vaccinated and more vaccine is received by the Health Department.
Once you have signed up, please do not call the Department of Health or other County offices, as the phone lines are being overwhelmed. You will receive a confirmation email of your place on the waiting list and another email when an appointment time is available.
We are all familiar with the strategies to stay healthy, and please continue them. Wash your hands, wear masks, maintain social distancing.
COVID Vaccine is only available to eligible groups at the Hunterdon County Clinics. For information on who is eligible to receive the vaccine in New Jersey please click CLICK HERE TO SEE MORE INFORMATION ON WHO IS ELIGIBLE
The Hunterdon County Health Department has received Moderna vaccine. The Moderna vaccine is 2 shot series, with doses provided 28 days apart. The Moderna vaccine is only approved for use in individuals ages 18 and above, and no one under the age of 18 will be vaccinated at the Hunterdon County clinic.
We DO NOT maintain any kind of “end of day” dose lists. We are very diligent with our appointment scheduling and use of vaccine and have had minimal “no shows” and have not had any instance of wasting any vaccine.
The Hunterdon County Health Department will not accommodate any “walk-ups” to our clinic location. Everyone must have a scheduled appointment. All vaccine clinics statewide will be done on an appointment only basis to ensure everyone’s health and well-being.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO PRE-REGISTER FOR THE VACCINE?
Based on many inquiries from the public, it is important for Hunterdon County residents to know the following about registration at https://covidvaccine.nj.gov :
This system is NOT affiliated with the current Hunterdon County Vaccination Clinics being held for those who qualify for vaccination.
Pre-registration on the NJ system DOES NOT make an appointment at one of Hunterdon County’s vaccine clinics. Pre-registration at https://covidvaccine.nj.govDOES NOT reserve a dose of vaccine for the registrant now or make an appointment for them.
• In New Jersey, vaccine is being distributed in a Phased approach. Vaccine is only available for Community Healthcare Workers, Law Enforcement, Fire Personnel, residents of long-term care facilities, individuals at high risk (individuals aged 65 and older, and individuals aged 16-64 with medical conditions defined by the CDC). When the vaccine supply increases, vaccination will advance to other groups.
The State’s online portal https://covidvaccine.nj.gov collects information about residents and determines the registrant’s eligibility to receive vaccine, based on the current Phase of distribution.
The state’s online portal will notify registrants when they are eligible to receive vaccine and they will be directed to a clinic location to make an appointment.
Any resident can sign up now and will be informed electronically through the system when their phase is opened.
The New Jersey Department of Health will broadly announce when we are permitted to move to the next Phase of vaccination. At this time, we do not have an estimated date to move into Phase 1C
The Hunterdon County Health Department will provide updates to our website and social media as additional Phases/Categories are eligible to receive vaccine.
If you are within Category 1A (community healthcare workers), a first responder, an individual aged 65 and older, or aged 16-64 with CDC specified medical conditions) you are now eligible for vaccination and view available clinic dates by visiting https://www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/Coronavirus/clinics.html.
Anyone who does not meet the eligibility criteria will not be provided an appointment or vaccine at this time.
