Board Overview

As top governing officials of Hunterdon County, the five Commissioners are chosen by popular vote in the November general elections. The term of office is for three years and the current compensation is $16,000 a year, with an extra $1,000 for the Director. One or two of the five members is elected each year. Any subsequent vacancies are filled by an appointment made by the remaining members to the Board for the unexpired term of the vacated seat.
