Hunterdon County Public Health Nursing and Education (PHN) provide population-based community health services by integrating a clinical understanding of health and wellness with epidemiological methods to implement an appropriate public health response.
Improved Pregnancy Outcome Program- provides referral, counseling, and education to at-risk pregnant women who reside in Hunterdon County. The primary goal is to help ensure a healthy outcome for mother and child, by coordinating the delivery of essential prenatal care.
Adolescent Pregnancy Project- provides all the same valuable services of the IPO program, with an extra emphasis on meeting the special needs of teens. By meeting with teens in the school environment, education will not be interrupted while essential prenatal care is being provided. All services are completely confidential and FREE.
Childhood Vaccine Program- PHN co collaborates with Hunterdon Medical Center to provide vaccinations to children of families who meet certain guidelines.
Childhood Lead Program- provides education and information on lead poisoning prevention methods to caregivers and medical providers.
Low-Income Women's Healthcare Program- provides low-income individuals with an initial visit to a participating healthcare provider for services which include: Complete medical and gynecologic history; Reproductive health education, etc.
Communicable Disease Reporting- investigates and follows up on all communicable disease reports in the county.
