Welcome to the Hunterdon County Office of the New Jersey State Department of Education. We are a state-county coordinating agency charged with regulatory compliance and educational leadership in the county.
The 27 school districts include 48 school buildings and employ approximately 3,400 full instructional, supervisory, and administrative positions. Local school budgets prepared for the 2019-2020 school year total $437,987,653.
All school districts continuously engage in curriculum improvement and professional learning for staff.
With offerings in alternative and special needs education, adult education, new courses, and methodologies in the general curriculum, facility planning, and vocational-technical education, the programs and practices are regularly reviewed and revised to align with 21st-century learning goals and improved student outcomes.
