Pesticide Application Enforcement & Inspection
Schools, restaurants, and apartment complexes are inspected by the Office of Environmental Health to ensure that pesticides used at these properties are applied by a licensed pesticide applicator according to state regulations.

Private Well Testing Act
In March 2001, the New Jersey Private Well Testing Act (PWTA) was signed into law, and its regulations became effective in September 2002. The PWTA is a consumer information law that requires sellers (or buyers) of property with potable wells in New Jersey to test the untreated groundwater for a variety of water quality parameters, including up to 32 human health concerns, and to review the test results prior to the closing of title.

Public Health Nuisance & Housing Investigations
Public health nuisance complaints and housing complaints are investigated by the Department of Health, Office of Environmental Health if the municipality you are calling from has adopted the public health nuisance code and the state housing code and the County's Public Health Department has been designated as the enforcement agent for your municipality.

The Office of Environmental Health provides bite reporting and referral, treatment consultations, specimen transport to Trenton, Community Rabies Shot Clinics, and public information.

The Office of Environmental Health provides information, consultation, distribution of educational materials for Radon Testing.

Right-to-Know Program
The County's "Right-to-Know" Program administered by the Office of Environmental Health is the purveyor of the central file for all covered work places in the county inventory which includes fact sheets, outreach inspections, and public education.

Safe Drinking Water Program
Well installation and abandonment inspections, certifications of new wells, commercial facility inspections, cross-connection inspections, administration of the PWTA, and investigation of groundwater contamination cases with sampling as necessary.

Septic Disposal Systems
The Office of Environmental Health performs site inspections, review of septic designs, installation inspections, repair guidance, certification of completed systems, and complaint investigations.
