These are the County bridges that are closed and/or under construction.
2023 Bridge Painting
Starting on or about Monday August 28, 2023, the following bridges will be painted as part of our 2023 Program. The bridges are currently planned to be painted in this order:
K-142 on Thatcher Road over the Lockatong Creek located in Kingwood Township
K-47 on Byram-Kingwood Road (CR651) over the Lockatong Creek located in Kingwood Township
F-55 on Lower Kingtown Road over the Capoolong Creek located in Franklin Township
R-43 on County Line Road over Chambers Brook located in Readington Township
B-8-W on CR643 (Asbury-West Portal Road) over the Musconetcong River located in Bethlehem Township (Hunterdon) and Franklin Township (Warren)
These bridges will be open to traffic during the painting process but please be aware of lane closures and possible delays.

Bloomsbury Railroad Bridge (County Route 579)

The Bloomsbury Railroad Bridge located on County Route 579 at the intersection of Staats Road and 3/10 of a mile from Willow Ave in Bloomsbury Borough and Bethlehem Township is closed indefinitely due to damage sustained from an accident. The bridge is maintained by the New Jersey Department of Transportation who is seeking permission from Norfolk Southern Railroad to enter their right-of-way to do the necessary repairs.
All motorists who are not local are asked to plan an alternate route that does not involve Willow Avenue in the Borough of Bloomsbury. The County suggests using State Route 173 to County Route 625 to County Route 579 as the alternate route.
D-304A Covered Bridge & D-304B (Rosemont-Ringoes Road)

Both bridges are now closed during working hours.
Hunterdon County Bridge D-304A (Covered Bridge), located on Westbound Rosemont-Ringoes Road (County Route 604) over the Wickecheoke Creek in Delaware Township, will remain CLOSED for repairs.
The adjacent bridge D-304B, located on Eastbound Rosemont-Ringoes Road (County Route 604) over the Wickecheoke Creek, will remain CLOSED during working hours. The traffic pattern for weekends and evenings will consist of Stop / Yield signs to allow two-way traffic over the one-lane D-304B bridge.
Repairs are more extensive than anticipated, therefore the project is anticipated to extend into the winter season. Please plan accordingly for delays or alternate routes
A detour has been posted.

E-243 (Van Lieus Road)
East Amwell Township

The bridge is closed due to structural damage sustained when an oversized vehicle traversed the bridge. The bridge replacement is anticipated to begin in late fall of 2023, and be completed in 2024. County Bridge E-243 located on Van Lieus Road at the intersection of Back Brook Road and 3/10 of a mile from County Route 602 in East Amwell Township.
ED-262 (Dunkard Church Road)
East Amwell and Delaware Townships
Bridge ED-262 located on Dunkard Church Road between Hanes Road and Rynearsons Road will be closed to all traffic beginning Tuesday September 5, 2023. Repairs are expected to last a few months with anticipated completion of mid-December 2023. Please plan accordingly for delays or alternate routes.
A detour will be posted.
CMS Construction Inc. will be the contractor.
L-26 (Buffalo Hollow Road)
County Bridge L-26 is located on Buffalo Hollow Road 2/10 of a mile west of County Route 513 and 1.6 miles east of Observatory Road. Bridge L-26 will be closed to all traffic starting on September 5,2023 for approximately 1 week, weather permitting.
County crews will be making repairs to the deck.
A detour will be posted.
L-90-W (Shoddy Mill Road)
Bridge closed due to damage caused by an overweight vehicle. Warren County is taking the lead for the repairs.
R-21 (Lamington Road)

Culvert R-21 located on Lamington Road approximately 400ft from Meadow Road will be closed to all traffic for emergency repairs until further notice.
WD-120 (Hamp Road)
West Amwell and Delaware Townships

WD-120 is located on Hamp Road. in Delaware and West Amwell Townships at Alexauken Creek Road intersection. This bridge has been closed due to Hurricane Ida damage. It will be closed until further notice.
