Who:
The Hunterdon County Youth Facility (HCYF) is the result of a collaboration
between all the significant youth serving agencies in the county. At
the HCYF we view adolescent family crisis as a series of challenges
that can be met, and resolved, through a comprehensive array of local
services and talent.
What:
The HCYF provides basic emergency
care for juveniles, aged 13-17, in a supportive and home-like environment.
Our program rules & regulations help to establish individual and
group discipline and help to ensure the safety of all. Our Life Skills
and REACH programs were designed to empower the youths by presenting
them with opportunities to take responsibility and experience success,
while also supporting their individual developmental needs.
Where:
We are located in Building #2 of the Route 12 County Complex in Flemington,
New Jersey.(Directions)
When:
Youth are referred to us, on an as-needed
basis, by family service agencies in Hunterdon & Warren County.
Why:
The HCYF's function is to serve youths
who have been subject to and/or demonstrate: abuse, abandonment, neglect,
running away, or minor delinquent acts.
Wagon Wheel:
We adopted a Wagon Wheel to symbolize
the collaborative nature
of our program, where HCYF is the HUB and the services offered by
county providers are the SPOKES. From the time of placement, and through
the duration of stay, the youth sits at the center of this circle of
available resources. We aim to support the youths' successful acclimation
to the HCYF environment, and, ultimately, the reunification with their
families.
