The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders held a Medal Design contest for recognition of Hunterdon County Veterans. The winning design was used to create a Veteran's Recognition Medal and was presented to Hunterdon County Veterans at a ceremony held on Flag Day, June 14, 2003.

On Tuesday, November 12, 2002 the Board unveiled the winning Veterans' Medal Design, created by John N. Hatzikalfas, of Team Graphics, located in Flemington, NJ. (View Larger Image of Winning Design)

To be eligible you must be veteran who served (either living or deceased), who currently reside in Hunterdon County or resided in Hunterdon County at the time of their active duty during any war or conflict (World War I or II; Korean conflict; Vietnam conflict or other peacekeeping missions - see registration form for additional information).

Copies of either the Service Record; or Report of Separation (DD Form 214); or Honorable Discharge must also be submitted. Other forms of verification of service will be considered (such as photographs).
