Smart Start for Hunterdon County Municipal Building Nets $42,000 Rebate from Jersey Central Power & Light
Hunterdon County will be the recipient of a $42,600 rebate from Jersey Central Power & Light for participating in an energy efficiency program offered through the New Jersey Clean Energy Program.
The County is receiving the rebate for Retro-Commissioning, a part of the Smart Start Building Program. Commissioning is a process to ensure a building's mechanical and electrical systems, including heating ventilating and air conditioning, work together to meet occupant and owner expectations. Commissioning was performed on the county administration building and the justice center in Flemington.
"Commissioning is a unique process to ensure that buildings perform as intended with respect to energy efficiency, comfort and ease of maintenance," said Harry Stamateris, Jersey Central Power & Light supervisor commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs. "With the wide variety of programs available in the New Jersey Clean Energy Program customers throughout Hunterdon County and across the state are benefiting by maximizing energy efficiency and performance."
