The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders presented Jean Mansur, Staff Writer for the Star Ledger with a County Seal embossed mug at their September 26, 2000 Board meeting. Ms. Mansur has been covering Hunterdon County since 1980 and has been recently assigned to cover Morris County. The Freeholders wished Ms. Mansur good luck in her new adventures at Morris County and thanked her for a job well done.
Freeholder Fuzo commented that Ms. Mansur attended Freeholder Meetings on a regular basis, and he considers her to be the Senior Press member for the County. She has consistently reported accurately the decisions and discussions of the Freeholders and her hard work is greatly appreciated by every member of the Board past and present.
Freeholder Melick asked Ms. Mansur what is the fondest memory she has with covering Hunterdon County. Ms. Mansur stated that the moment that she will always remember was when the County awarded the Blew Family of Franklin Township the first Farmland Preservation award in 1985.
Ms. Mansur stated that since she is a resident of Hunterdon County she will continue to attend Freeholder meetings when time allows. She thanked the Board for all of their wonderful comments.
