PROCLAMATION
September 25, 2001
Proclaiming October, 2001 as Disabilities Awareness Month

WHEREAS, all Americans are stakeholders in the challenge to ensure that each Individual with Disabilities reaches their full potential; and

WHEREAS, the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, which prohibits discrimination in employment, public accommodations, transportation, and communication, reaches its eleventh year of implementation in 2001; and

WHEREAS, we celebrate the progress that has been made, and commit to continued efforts in the path to total compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Hunterdon does hereby concur with the Congress of the United States in declaring October, 2001, as "National Disability Awareness Month", in the County of Hunterdon; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Chosen Freeholders does hereby proclaim that October, 2001, provides an opportunity to recognize the arduous contributions of Individuals with Disabilities, and to strengthen, even further, our continued dedication to support every individual in their efforts to meet their full potential.
