Division of Corrections - Inmate Mail Procedures

Put your return full name address and intended inmates HC# and full name on the mail. (No Nick Names Allowed) We will not deliver or hold mail for an inmate if it is missing a return address or required full names.  If the mail does not have the required information it may be refused or returned to the sender.  

Please hand write your return address rather than using gummed or adhesive labels. We remove such labels from mail before giving it to the inmate. Without a return address, the inmate may not be able to write to you because he or she will not know your address.

Do not place any stickers or non-postal related stamps on the mail or add a "lipstick" kiss. Do not spray mail with perfume.

Items received in the inmate mail that are not allowed or authorized by the Jail including:

- Postage stamps - Envelopes - Cassette tapes/CDs
- Video tapes / DVDs - Polaroid photos - Posters
- Phone calling cards - Gift Certificates - Personal or blank checks
- Savings bonds - Writing tablets - Non-court clothing
- Blank greeting cards - Stationary / Note cards - Jewelry
- Puzzle books - Laminated items - Large photographs
- Head rags / Bandannas - Lipstick / Bodily fluids - Sexually oriented material
- Blank paper - White out - Colored drawings (crayon, markers, etc.)
- All STG affiliated material - Pens / Pencils - Anything written in code
- Stickers / Post-it notes - Glued items - Any musical or mechanical devices
- Mail from the victim of a crime that the inmate is in custody for
- Books, magazines or newspapers not from bookstore or publisher
- Any other items received that are not authorized by the Jail
- Food items received will be disposed of and not kept in the inmate's locker
- Cell Phones are not authorized inside the jail

All mail containing contraband may be returned to sender or refused.

Drugs, weapons or illegal items received in the mail will be forwarded to the County Prosecutor’s Office for investigation.
