Church Street

County Route 650, also known as Church Street, will be improved to provide two travel lanes in each direction between U.S. Route 31 and U.S. Route 202. A sidewalk on one side of the street and bicycle lanes on each side will also be provided. Construction is underway with the relocation of utility poles, but actual roadwork slated for April 2000.

Construction Schedule: Project Completion scheduled for December 1, 2002
Construction Cost: Approximately $565,000

09/26/2003 UPDATE FROM THE NJDOT:

This Federal Aid Project is currently under construction. The limits are from just north of the Felmington Circle to the Black River & Western RR underpass. The project will reconstruct the subjec tintersection under traffic as requested by Flemington Borough. The design reflects the existing wideing of Voorhees Corner Road recently completed by Hunterdon County as well as Flemington Borough's plan to widen Church Street. This porject was awarded to The Crisdel Group for construcitono n June 28, 2001.

Construction is proceeding relatively smoothly. The substantial completion date is November 2003. The project is estimated to be 50% complete.

01/31/2003 UPDATE FROM THE NJDOT:
This Federal Aid project is currently under construction. The limits are from north of the Flemington Circle to the Black River and Western RR underpass. The project will construct the subject intersection under traffic as requested by Flemington Borough. The design reflects the existing widening of Voorhees Corner Road recently completed by Hunterdon County as well as Flemington Borough's plan to widen Church Street. This project was awarded to The Crisdel Group for construction on June 28, 2001.

Utility relocations are complete. The contractor has started construction activities along mainline Route 31. Due to various delays beyond his control, the contractor has requested a time extension to complete the contract. The Department is currently reviewing the request. The project is approximately 19% complete.
