The Hunterdon County Smart Growth Natural Resources Committee assisted the Hunterdon County Planning Board in preparing a GIS-based (computer mapping and analysis) model that evaluates landscape features in two ways. First, it assesses the relative environmental sensitivity of different areas. Secondly, it assesses the landscape based on development constraints posed by various environmental features. The Environmental Assessment is a planning tool that the County will include in its new Growth Management Plan.
