LYME DISEASE AND OTHER TICKBORNE DISEASE INVESTIGATIONS Here in Hunterdon County, Lyme disease and other tick-borne diseases are persistent public health threats. The county has been ranked among the top counties in the U.S. for confirmed cases of Lyme Disease. Working with county-based physicians, the Public Health Nursing Division investigates and documents all reported cases of Lyme disease. This continuous monitoring assists in accurately measuring the trends and patterns of Lyme Disease incidence.
Case reports of other tick-borne diseases; Babesiosis, Erlichiosis and Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever; are also investigated by Division staff.
