About Public Health Nursing & Education:
Each staff person within the Department of Health plays a role in educating the community. However, the main responsibility of coordinating community education efforts falls to the Public Health Nursing and Education Office. The Health Educator initiates and/or responds to requests for education programs from schools, camps, businesses, community groups and service organizations. The topics addressed include, but are not limited to Lyme disease, tobacco issues, rabies, radon, child safety, infection control, HIV/AIDS, etc.
The Public Health Nursing and Education Program provides speakers, health counseling and referral, free literature and A-V aids to interested residents. Specific program areas include Lyme disease, rabies, safety, fitness, stress management, etc. You can contact Public Health Nursing and Education at (908) 806-4570 or email: phn@co.hunterdon.nj.us
The Public Health Educator also collaborates with the Health Department's public relations director to publicize the department's programs and services using cable TV, radio, newspapers, the internet and information products including flyers, brochures and pamphlets. |
