~ H1N1 and Seasonal Flu Message from John W. Beckley, Hunterdon County Health Officer~
“Going by the calls we’re getting at the county health department, it is increasingly clear that Hunterdon residents are concerned about both seasonal and H1N1 flu. Complicating matters right now are challenges with ensuring availability, again, for both kinds of influenza vaccine.
I want to share what I’m hearing from my direct contacts at the New Jersey Department of Health & Senior Services. There are delays right now in manufacturers shipping regular seasonal flu vaccine to many physician offices throughout the U.S. It is not so much a question of if but rather when the ordered doses will arrive. I ask you to be patient even as I understand your concern. With regards to H1N1 flu vaccine, we expect our initial shipment – as do local physician practices around the county – within the next 10 days. Once these deliveries are locked in, we’ll immediately announce the H1N1 flu clinic details.
Please stay tuned by visiting us right here in our web storefront. We are working hard to ensure that the information you see here is as current and accurate as possible.” |
