HEALTH DEPARTMENT EXPANDS H1N1 CLINIC ON NOVEMBER 22 (click here for Press Release in Spanish)
The Hunterdon County Department of Health announced today that it is adding 500 new doses to its supply for the H1N1 clinic to be held November 22 at the Hunterdon Central Regional High School field house from 10AM-4PM. This opens up 500 additional slots for which residents can register. The earlier 400 appointments were already filled before noon on Monday.
The clinic is for 10-24 year olds with serious underlying chronic health conditions as defined by the Centers for Disease Control. These include: chronic lung (including asthma), cardiovascular, liver, kidney, neurological/neuromuscular, cognitive, blood, metabolic (including diabetes), or immune suppression conditions. Caregivers of infants 6 months or younger are also eligible, as are EMS workers with direct patient care.
At the Nov 22 clinic, the vaccine will be administered via injection and not as a nasal spray. While the clinic will be limited by the amount of doses available, if additional doses are received prior to the event, appointment hours will be extended.
Pre-registration is required. Walk-in patients will not be admitted. Individuals under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. To pre-register, go to www.co.hunterdon.nj.us/health.htm.
Prior to arrival at the clinic, registered patients should read the Vaccine Information Form titled “What You Need to Know,” and complete and sign the Vaccination Consent Form.
These forms can be found by clicking the link provided in an appointment confirmation e-mail registrants will receive.
The county health department also has H1N1 clinics planned on Thursday, December 3, from 5 pm-9 pm at South Hunterdon Regional High School in West Amwell; Saturday, December 5, from 8am-8pm at Holland Brook School in Readington Township; Sunday, December 6, from 8am-8pm at Voorhees High School in Lebanon Township; Friday, December 11, from 5pm-9pm at J.P.
