WHAT ARE TOP “5” HEALTH ISSUES IN HUNTERDON COUNTY
How healthy is Hunterdon County? To find out, the public is invited to an historic event March 27 when the Hunterdon County Department of Health and the Partnership for Health unveil the results of an aggressive two-year study about local health conditions. Formally known as the “Report on the Status of Health In Hunterdon County,” this event marks the first public disclosure of the outcome of the wide-ranging research initiative. It is part of an 11-year-old collaboration of the county health department, the Hunterdon Medical Center and more than 30 community service providers.
“Everyone in Hunterdon County is invited to join us for this unveiling,” said John Beckley, health officer and director of the county health department. “You will hear some very compelling news about both the quality of health here in Hunterdon County and the top five health areas we are most concerned about.”
The event is being held at the Hunterdon Medical Center auditorium from 5:30pm-7:30pm. In addition to Beckley, speakers will include Matt Holt, Hunterdon County freeholder and county health department liaison, Robert Wise, president and chief executive officer of Hunterdon Healthcare System, Dr. Jorge Berkowitz, chairman of the Community Health Advisory Committee, Kathy Roye Horn, director of Infection Control Services at Hunterdon Medical Center, and Rose Mehrlust, Partnership for Health coordinator.
