February 12 - 18, 2006, as "Career and Technical Education Week"
February 14, 2006 Freeholder Meeting

WHEREAS, February 12 – 18, 2006, has been designated Career and Technical Education Week by the Association for Career and Technical Education; and

WHEREAS, technical education provides Americans with skills for employment; and

WHEREAS,  technical education provides a well-educated work force, which fosters productivity in business and industry and contributes to America's leadership in the international marketplace; and

WHEREAS, technical education gives students experience in practical, meaningful applications of skills in reading, writing and mathematics, thus improving the quality of their education, giving all students leadership opportunities in their fields and in their communities; and

WHEREAS, technical education offers individuals lifelong opportunities to learn new skills, which provide them career choices and personal satisfaction; and

WHEREAS, technical education stimulates the growth and vitality of our businesses and industries by preparing workers to meet the challenges of the next decade.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT PROCLAIMED, that the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Hunterdon does hereby declare February 12 - 18, 2006, as "Career and Technical Education Week" in Hunterdon County and urge all citizens to become familiar with the services and benefits offered by Hunterdon County POLYTECH and to support and participate in these programs to enhance their individual work skills and productivity.
