Fallen Windmill. Mostly used during the late 19th and early 20th century, the purpose of the windmill was to pump water from beneath the ground utilizing the wind to turn a wheel of adjustable vanes, slats, or sails. The water was used to nourish livestock on the farm and help maintain crop production.
