Goldfish Pond. One of the greatest pleasures built on country estates was the creation of water features such as a pond. This small manmade pond was supplied with goldfish and surrounded by exotic trees and shrubs for shade. It also probably offered a bench to enhance the solitude of watching the goldfish swim or to reflect about nature.
