back to index Colonial Era Cannon Ball and Crane Hook

Colonial Era Cannon Ball & Crane Hook. These artifacts represent some of the products that were manufactured at Union Furnace. Military hardware, such as cannon balls and musket balls, were produced here during the Revolutionary War. The crane hook, forged from an iron chain link, came from the Union Furnace House and hung on a crane in the fireplace to keep kettles and food inside buckets warm.
