back COMMON MULLEIN Next

Common Mullein (Verbascum thapsus).  This is a non-native weed which is usually found in open areas where the ground has been disturbed, such as fields, roadsides, streamsides, gardens, and forest openings.  It is a biennial and in its first year, it will only grow a rosette.  The flower stalk grows the second year and will produce yellow flowers with five petals which bloom from June to September (FCPS).
