Staghorn Sumac (Rhus typhina).  Staghorn sumac is an understory tree or shrub that reaches 15 to 30 feet tall.  It is called “staghorn” because of the fuzzy petioles (leaf stems).  The red berry clusters are a winter food source for wildlife, and can also be made into a cold drink resembling pink lemonade.
