back SINGLE STONE ARCH BRIDGE Next

Single Stone Arch Bridge. This is a hand-constructed single stone arch bridge which crosses the Hollow Brook. It was built in the late 1800's, and was most likely used by private owners for logging and quarrying purposes. A 1981 survey by a private planning firm indicated that 19 single-arch bridges still survived in Hunterdon County. There were also 2 double-arch bridges.
