back SNAKEROOT Next

White Snakeroot (Ageratina altissima).  This is a native, poisonous plant.  It is thought that President Lincoln’s mother died from this plant, after drinking contaminated milk from the family cow, who had grazed on it.  These common white flowers bloom August through October.
