back Quarried Rock Next
Quarried Rock.  The line present on the rock was made using a feather and wedge technique.  A small hole was drilled every six inches or so, and then two L-shaped metal feathers (as seen in the bottom left) were inserted.  A wedge was placed in the middle and would be tapped back and forth with a mallet.  The vibrations would cause the rock to break apart.
