Round Mountain Section, Deer Path Park

Grey Catbird (Dumetella carolinensis). Catbirds are generally 7.75 inches in length. They have dark gray plumage and dark eyes, as well as a slender bill. Their crown and tail are black, as are their legs. Both sexes are similar. They are often found in dense vegetation, and their name comes from their call, which sounds like a cat's meow (USGS).
