Striped Maple Leaves (Acer pensylvanicum). Striped Maple is an interesting tree found in the uplands of northern NJ. It is a small tree, occasionally reaching 30 feet. Its trunk ranges from green to greenish-brown, with long vertical greenish-white stripes. It has also been called moosewood, whistlewood, goosefoot maple, and snakebark maple.
