Landsdown Trail: Part of the South Branch Reservation

Female House Sparrow (Passer domesticus).  House Sparrows are not related to our native sparrows.  They are originally from Europe.  Males have a black throat, white cheeks, and a chestnut nape.  Females lack the dark throat and have a dingy breast and a dull eye stripe.  They are common inhabitants in developed areas.
