Bolts for Aerial Tramway. In 1881, an aerial wire rope tramway was installed by the West End Iron Company to transport iron ore down the north side of the mountain in metal buckets. It was then carted by wagon half a mile south to the Valley Station of the Central Railroad of NJ and loaded onto railcars.
