back to index Robin's Nest

Robin's (Turdus migratorius) Nest.  Robins build their nests in shrubs, tree forks, horizontal branches, or almost any decent-sized ledge.  Very rarely will a nest be built on the ground.  They tend to be very deep, and the cup is molded to fit the female's body.  The nests are composed of grasses, weed stalks, strips of clothes, and string, which are worked using soft mud (Harrison 156).
