Fishing Spider. Fishing spiders are generally found around water. They are capable of dashing across the surface of a stream without breaking the surface tension. When frightened, they can submerge themselves for up to 15 minutes due to their body hairs, which collect air bubbles. When insects, tadpoles or small fish move and vibrate the water, the spider will lunge forward and grab its prey with both legs and fangs simultaneously.
