back Ants and Eggs Next

Ants and Eggs. "The queen is the one that lay eggs. In some species the workers also lay infertile eggs to serve as food for the larvae. Eggs have a white pearly color. Worker ants keep them in clusters. The workers clean and rotate the eggs for them not to get moldy. Eggs are moved to different chambers in accordance to the temperature of each chamber to accelerate the hatching period" (Bubblegum Productions).
