back Dying Leaves Pigmentation Next

Dying Leaves. Plants get their green color from a pigment called chlorophyll. Both chlorophyll and sunlight are needed to go through photosynthesis, a process that allows plants to produce their own food. This plant is losing its green color because it is not getting the sunlight it needs to be able to go through photosynthesis and produce food for itself, and will eventually die for lack of energy.
