Showy Tick Trefoil (Desmodium canadense). Showy Tick Trefoil is in the Pea family. It blossoms from July through August, and is found from Nova Scotia south to Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, and Maryland in moist open woods and at the edges of fields (Peterson & McKenny 224).
