back to index Box Elder Tree Leaf back to index

Box Elder Tree (Acer negundo) Leaf.  Box elders are in the maple family and have compound leaves of 3-5 leaflets.  This leaf is commonly mistaken for poison ivy due to its leaves of three.  It has an opposite leaf structure or “buddy branching,” however, while poison ivy has an alternate branching structure.
