1893 Gazebo. The focal point of the display gardens is a unique two-story gazebo, built by Hiram E. Deats in 1893. Donated to the Hunterdon County Park System in 1979 by the Deats family, it is considered the oldest structure of its type in the state. Once overlooking the sand tennis courts on the Deats’ Flemington Junction estate, this restored structure is popular for wedding ceremonies and photo sessions. The brick garden patio is always surrounded by seasonal flower displays.
The gardens and gazebo are reservable by contacting the Hunterdon County Division of Parks & Recreation.
