2007 HISTORICAL ESSAY CONTEST
The Most Historic Place In My Town
MINI-HISTORIAN OF THE YEAR
Winners of the 19th annual The Most Historic Place in My Town essay contest were invited to the May 22, 2006 Freeholders' meeting at 5:30 pm to receive awards presented by Freeholder Director George Muller and James Davidson, a member of the Cultural & Heritage Commission.
Madison Gavornik, of the Tewksbury Elementary School received the GRAND PRIZE in the Commission's 2007 Historic Essay Contest, which is held each spring to commemorate National Historic Preservation Month. Madison's essay entitled "An Interview with the Fairmount Presbyterian Church" was chosen from among the 92 essays submitted. For the 18th consecutive year, members of the Retired Teachers Association of Hunterdon County served as judges.
