Grants Due

The Commission is charged by the County to recommend and administer programs to increase the visibility and impact of the history, arts, culture, goals and traditions of the community.  It serves as an advisory to the Board of Chosen Freeholders and seeks available government funds to develop and support local and county historical, arts and cultural programs.

County History Partnership Program (CHPP)

The County History Partnership Program (CHPP) is made available through re-grant funds provided by the New Jersey Historical Commission (NJHC), a Division of the Department of State.  General Operating Support and Project grants are available to qualified organizations.

Local Arts Program (LAP)

The Local Arts Program (LAP) provides funding to local arts organizations from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts. General Operating Support and Project grants are available to qualified organizations.

Hunterdon County Special Project & Mini Grants (SpProj)

The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders provides funding for the Hunterdon County Special Project and Mini Grants, which may be awarded to eligible Hunterdon County not-for-profit arts, cultural, historical/preservation organizations and individuals for specific programs, projects or activities (not general operating support). Applicants submitting for funding under this program are ineligible for other grant programs administered by the Commission (LAP, CHPP) within the same calendar year. The application timeline for this grant program has been changed for 2018 projects.

THE HUNTERDON COUNTY OPEN SPACE TRUST FUND PROGRAM administered by the Hunterdon County Planning Board, offers a Municipal Grants Program and Nonprofit Grants Program that advances mutually beneficial land preservation objectives and increases funding sources and opportunities with State Green Acres and Farmland Preservation Programs, and municipal and nonprofit organization open space preservation initiatives. THE NEW JERSEY HISTORICAL COMMISSION offers a variety of different types of grants to support programs and activities related to New Jersey history, including General Operating Support Grants, Project Grants and Mini-grants. The New Jersey Cultural Trust was created in July 2000 as a public/private partnership to help ensure a stable and healthy nonprofit cultural industry in New Jersey that is sustainable even in the toughest of economic times.  The Trust provides grants to support capital projects, endowments and institutional and financial stabilization of arts, history and humanities organizations in New Jersey. Funding for the grants comes from interest earned on the Cultural Trust Fund, which is a permanent investment fund. http://www.nj.gov/state/culturaltrust/dos_ct_information.html

The NJ Historic Trust oversees several grant programs supporting historic preservation and preservation planning. It also provides small grants or loans for the emergency stabilization of historic property. http://www.njht.org/dca/njht/programs/
