Grant WorkshopsWe listened! The Commission is updating its application forms for FY2016 Special Projects Grants and FY2016 Local Arts Program grants. Workshops to assist applicants in completing grant applications are recommended for all current Commission regrantees, and for those planning to apply for Commission grants. Workshops will take place at the Hunterdon County Historic Courthouse, 71 Main St., Flemington, NJ, from 6-8pm.  Workshops are free, but please register with your name, phone number, and organization via email to cultural@co.hunterdon.nj.us .

  • Wednesday, July 8, 2015 Grant Narratives:  What Reviewers Want to Know  Writing a narrative that clearly describes your organization and its mission is one of the most important aspects of any grant application. Learn what reviewers typically look for, how to answer narrative questions without repeating yourself, and mistakes to avoid when preparing a grant narrative.
  • Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015 - Local Arts Program Grants An overview of the Local Arts Program (LAP) regrants, funded by a grant from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts. Arts programs only. Participants will review the new application forms.
  • Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015 - Special Project Grants An overview of the Hunterdon County Special Projects grant program, administered by the Commission on behalf of the Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders. History and arts programs. Participants will review the updated application forms.
  • Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015 - Completing Final Grant Reports A guided review of the Final Report process for both the LAP regrants, and the Special Projects grants programs, focusing on the audience impact and budget pages.

The Hunterdon County Open Space Trust Fund Program administered by the Hunterdon County Planning Board, offers a Municipal Grants Program and Nonprofit Grants Program that advances mutually beneficial land preservation objectives and increases funding sources and opportunities with State Green Acres and Farmland Preservation Programs, and municipal and nonprofit organization open space preservation initiatives.

The New Jersey Historical Commission is a state agency within the New Jersey Department of State dedicated to the advancement of public knowledge and preservation of New Jersey history. All of its grant funding is provided by legislative appropriation. 

The New Jersey Historical Commission offers a variety of different types of grants to support programs and activities related to New Jersey history, including General Operating Support Grants, Project Grants and Mini-grants. It also offers prizes and free archival evaluation services through the Caucus Archival Projects Evaluation Service or CAPES.

NEW JERSEY CULTURAL TRUST
The New Jersey Cultural Trust was created in July 2000 as a public/private partnership to help ensure a stable and healthy nonprofit cultural industry in New Jersey that is sustainable even in the toughest of economic times.
The Trust provides grants to support capital projects, endowments and institutional and financial stabilization of arts, history and humanities organizations in New Jersey. Funding for the grants comes from interest earned on the Cultural Trust Fund, which is a permanent investment fund.

NEW JERSEY HISTORIC TRUST

The NJ Historic Trust oversees several grant programs supporting historic preservation and preservation planning. It also provides small grants or loans for the emergency stabilization of historic property. For more information visit: http://www.njht.org/dca/njht/programs/
