Mobile Command Unit - Command 86

The Mobile Command Post known as COMMAND 86 acts as a secondary communications center, having all of the county frequencies available, thus relieving the load on the Communications Center. It is equipped with multiple cell phones, a fax machine and computer so information can be sent directly to the scene. A link via mobile data terminals to the CAD system is planned for the future.

Command 86 has assisted in many local emergency situations such as flooding and fire as well provided assistance for various other agencies including NJ State Police and NJ National Guard at Liberty State Park during the September 11, 2001 Terror attacks.
