PROCEDURES FOR INDIVIDUALS
  1. If a municipality is not providing a cleanup program for items that have been damaged as a result of Hurricane Ivan, County residences will be allowed the free disposal of one load of flood/water damaged materials at the Hunterdon County Transfer Station. This temporary program will begin on Tuesday, September 21st and continue through Saturday September 25th. Delivers can be made Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm and on Saturday 7:00 am to 10:00 am.
  2. Only flood/water damaged materials from private households located in Hunterdon County will be accepted at no charge.
  3. Delivers of flood/water damaged materials will only be permitted in privately licensed vehicles.
  4. Those delivering materials for disposal will have to provide their name, address, a copy of a valid New Jersey State divers license and license plate number.
  5. If a municipality is providing it's residents with a  cleanup program for flood/water damaged materials, individual deliveries to the transfer station will be prohibited.

PROCEDURES FOR MUNICIPALITIES
  1. A municipality that conducts a clean-up program for flood/water damaged materials can dispose of the collected materials at the Hunterdon County Transfer Station during normal hours of operation (Monday through Friday 7:00 am to 5:00 pm and Saturdays 7:00 am to 10:00 pm)
  2. All vehicles delivering materials for disposal by a municipality must have a valid New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection registration decal.
  3. The municipality will be responsible for the payment of the tipping fees by the end of the next billing cycle.
  4. Those delving materials for disposal must provide a completed New Jersey Department of Environmental origin and destination (O&D) form.
  5. In the event a private contractor is delivering materials on a municipality's behalf, a written approval from the municipality must be provided prior to the disposal of any materials.

 

RESIDENTS IN NEED OF EMERGENT DISPOSAL

Residents of Hunterdon County that have an emergent need to dispose of household hazardous waste as a result of Hurricane Ivan flooding can deliver materials to the Morris County Municipal Utilities Authority's Household Hazardous Waste Facility.

Materials will be accepted on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays (by appointment). The facility, located in Mt. Olive, will accept household hazardous wastes from Hunterdon County residents. The fee for the disposal of waste is set at $1.25 per pound.
