The Hunterdon County Department of Public Safety, Division of Corrections is the main custodian of all adult offenders arrested for violations of laws within the County of Hunterdon. The safety and welfare and control of all inmates within the Hunterdon County Jail is the main responsibility of the Department and its employees. The Department provides internal and external security for the jail facility as well as for the citizens in the surrounding community at large.

The Hunterdon County Department of Public Safety, Division of Corrections is nationally accredited by the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare.
